To build a future, find time to plan it!
Are you thinking about your future and the company’s? If yes, are you putting your thoughts into planning it?
An organisation and its leaders, who are going to grow in an innovative manner, need to take out the time to plan it….
To do this, we need to do less of what we do today and encourage our team mates to share some of our work, which would allow you more time for more strategic thinking to build the future. In this manner, your team gets motivated because you delegate more and you get the time for initiatives that will realise the goals of the company and of us as individuals.
I often tell myself that within the next two years, I would like to spend less of my time with operational issues and do more of M&A activities to realise some of our aspirations to make Escorts a global company. For that, I need to ensure the culture, its leaders and processes are functional in a manner that we would expect to see in a multinational company. If this is in place, then we will have the time to paint the canvas for our company’s growth.
To do the above, I need my top team to be in sync with me in planning this, so that their transition is also planned along with mine to action our next big move ( BTW- We are in discussions with few people for our next big leap! Will share when nearer to time)
Don’t just manage size, let’s manage our business and for that let’s plan the future and encourage others to do what you are doing today.
