Towards a Greener, Healthier Environment
On the Diamond Jubilee celebration of Faridabad Industries Association, it is an honour for Escorts and Nanda family to get the recognition from society and the Chief Minister of Haryana – Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
This embeds with the core philosophy of H P Nanda, who as the patriotic Indian and visionary entrepreneur sought an inclusive growth for Indian society. As a third generation member of Nanda family, I feel extremely humbled in events like these which remind me of my responsibilities to bring prosperity to Escorts, industry and to the society at large.
Our Chairman Mr Rajan Nanda initiated to take the pledge on making Faridabad a green city and the Chief Minister Mr Hooda read out the pledge to make our city more environmental friendly and safe for society.
To spread this message and create awareness among the employees, a plantation drive was held across all our manufacturing units on the World Environment Day wherein we spoke about this pledge and how every Escortian should cascade this message to achieve the aspirations of society. Social and economic problems of environment were discussed at length in view of taking some definitive actions and I was pleasantly surprised to hear about suggestions which were eco-friendly and positive. We can contribute to this cause by not wasting water, by switching off the lights and fans in the offices / homes when not in use, recycling our waste paper and products made of wood.
Officials from the horticulture department of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) attended the event and advised to plant more Peepal Trees (Ficus religiosa), as they generate high levels of oxygen and clean up the air.
The main objective of today’s blog is to get the people involved with the environment. We all need to sustain and prevent it, so let’s pledge to make earth a better place to live in.
